The July 2022 Bar Exam

Preparation for the July 2022 bar exam is coming up! Many law students are likely winding up their semesters and getting ready to graduate. This is an incredibly exciting time – and you should be proud of yourselves and all that you have accomplished!

There is one thing lurking: the bar exam. You want to begin your bar preparation for the July 2022 exam no later than May 23, and beginning the week before at some point is ideal and recommended. What are FOUR things you want to do BEFORE diving into your bar review course full-time?

• Get familiar with your program. Regardless of which program you are using, you want to familiarize yourself with it. Where are all of your practice questions located? Where can you access your schedule? Where do you see your performance metrics? What type of outlines are you getting? You want to be familiar with your course before you begin using it to maximize your time with it.
• Gather all of your materials. There is a chance you have other materials outside of your bar preparation course you are using. Maybe you are using flashcards, or materials from your law school. Note all of the materials you are going to be using for bar preparation and how you want to use them.
• Choose your study space. Where you study for the bar exam is super important, and you want to have a study space picked out! Your space should have little to no distractions, reliable internet, and should be somewhere that is comfortable for you. If you are having trouble finding a location, please do not hesitate to reach out to someone for help.
• Make your first week schedule. Sit down and plan your first week of studying. Remember to put in your breaks, your meals, your meal preparation, and anything else you can think of. You want to get into this practice of making a detailed schedule for yourself as soon as possible.

While it’s daunting, scratch these four things off your to-do list. It will not only make you feel better, but it will save you some time when you begin your bar preparation. It’s time to crush the July 2022 bar exam!
